I packed up 3 boxes of games, cards, puzzles, and activities that come with free USPS priority shipping anywhere in the contiguous US.  These used games are a great value and would provide hours of learning fun.

Every box is $40, and I accept Paypal.  Boxes would arrive in a few days.  I indicated on some items that their boxes would not fit into the package.

Game of the Month Club

Thank you so much to every reader!

I am convinced that there is value in this project, and I also have to justify the time and money involved.

I'm wondering if anyone might be interested in a game of the month club.  It would especially make sense to local readers.  For $30 (6 months) or $50 (12 months), you would receive a different used game (shipping would be extra).   6 or 12 games could alternatively be picked up or sent all at once.  Shipping is much cheaper if boxes are flattened or omitted.

I'm selling games at a flea market on Saturday, and I'm also looking for someone who might want to sell games online (eBay/craigslist).

I have also started sharing games at the public library (after story time, Thursdays at 11:30 for the next 6 weeks).  Every week there's a theme (last week was memory and matching).  Patrons can use games while I am there, and members of my library can check out or return games.  It was popular last week, and someone joined the library.

Montessori Setup Before & After

Some of you may want to see how my shelves have evolved over the last little bit.  In general, I have too many materials on the shelves.  I have made changes based on what happened when we used the materials, finding more materials, adding a set of shelves and a small table, loaning out materials, insisting that materials have all their pieces, looking up the recommended order of presentation, the practical use of the room, and aesthetics.

Homeschool routine and moveable alphabet

I am only homeschooling (my kindergartener) for 2 days a week, and my youngest is almost 6 (my training is 2 1/2 years to 6 years).  I wasn't sure how our routine would work, but I have been pleased with the morning schedule we started.  After he's dressed, eats breakfast, makes his bed, and puts clothes away, P. has to complete spelling (6 cards), writing (with chalk), reading (3 books), one Montessori activity, and 10 minutes of online math before he gets free time.

It took some time to get him started, but I felt great when he did his spelling the other day on his own.  I was also excited when he put letters into the mystery box to guess what they were by touch.  For some reason, he doesn't like the wooden moveable alphabet, so we're improvising.  My daughter will be using the cursive moveable alphabet, I hope.  Including Spanish, we have 6 moveable alphabets right now.

I have 14 apple boxes worth of Montessori materials and supplies for making materials that I'm ready to sell.  I need to make more space!  I will probably sell the supplies (boxes, cups, bowls, trays) at the Aitken Senior Center Sale on Oct. 5th (Castro Valley, 8-1 pm), if I haven't sold them before that.
